My fam­ily loves to cook to­gether on week­ends and Fri­day is one of our pri­mary sources of in­spi­ra­tion. So when we saw the spec­tac­u­lar cake on the Au­gust 16 cover we im­me­di­ately de­cided to make it.

Let me tell you that the re­sult was absolutely amaz­ing. We didn’t have the pa­tience to dec­o­rate it the way Chef Sil­vena Rowe had, as we de­mol­ished it in no time, but next time I think we’ll make an ef­fort and send you some pho­tos. This is one recipe that is def­i­nitely go­ing to be a reg­u­lar in the Kaushik house­hold.

SUHANA KAUSHIK, DUBAI I am one of those peo­ple who be­lieve bak­ing is for sci­en­tists and not for those who like to ex­per­i­ment with in­gre­di­ents. But when I saw the im­age of the cake on your cover and read the recipe, I re­alised I had to make this as Chef Sil­vena Rowe has proved bak­ing is not rocket science af­ter all and novices like me can do it.

Now that I am over my fear, I am def­i­nitely go­ing to be mak­ing more such ir­re­sistible de­lights. Here’s hop­ing to see some more recipes from Sil­vena.
