A round-up of what’s hot in the city.
We’ve never tried mooncake before, but it sounds totally out of this world. Which is why we’ll be heading to Zheng He’s at Madinat Jumeirah between September 15 and 21 to sample the lunar snacks as part of the restaurant’s celebration of the traditional Chinese Mid-Autumn festival. A time of thanksgiving for the harvest held in the eighth month of the Chinese calendar, moon gazing plays an important part, but there will also be special set menus, mooncake making and tea master ceremonies, a traditional lion dance and live Guzheng music.
