Laura Holland, co-founder of BeUtifulYou, a Dubai-based well-being company, says yoga and meditation can help to blend you with your inner being. “Reconnecting to this reminds you of your own beautiful nature and in this relaxed positive state, it is not long until your inner being illuminates your physical body,” says Laura.
In fact, research (Daubenmier, 2005) has demonstrated that yoga is associated with lower body anxiety and could therefore be key in increasing body satisfaction among teenagers too.
“Yoga allows us to begin slowing down the self-critic and start to realise that the voices in our heads aren’t necessarily the reality,” says Laura.
