And have you continued to follow the tradition?
I started out entertaining like my mother did but have definitely pared it down over the years.
As a working mum I don’t always have time for more elaborate entertaining, but on Diwali I do lay the table, take out my nicest serving dishes and all other pretty table things I have collected or been given over the years.
I do like to order some flowers as well and probably cook more than I need to, but less than what mum did! a two-year-old son Aditey as well]. It is a family friendly place, the children always have things to do and I have lots of friends who now live here so it feels very comfortable and familiar.
