When I make a salad just for myself, I end up with a lot of cut fruits and vegetables like peppers, onions and apples. They don’t seem to last long in the fridge so often end up going to waste. What is the best way to store them?

All you need is a clean and dry paper towel and a ziplock bag.

Just lightly wrap the cut-up vegetable or fruit with the paper towel and place it in the ziplock bag. Seal the bag, then place in the refrigerator.

Don’t freeze leftover fruit or vegetables as that will destroy the nutritional value of the produce when you thaw it.

This technique should keep your cut-up fruit and vegetables fresh for two to three days.
