1. Have a games evening
Often the old-fashioned pastimes are the best so choose one evening a week or a month where you sit around the table and play a board game. If the phone rings, ignore it.
2. Let the children plan a holiday or a weekend away
If your children are old enough, get them to choose a break for the whole family and then help them to research it. You’ll probably end up doing something you never considered, like horse riding or wind surfing or riding as many roller coasters as you can in one day!
3. Do a DVD
Put on an exercise DVD or a dance DVD and all join in. Exercising together gives you a double boost of feel-good hormones because you’re moving and you’re with people you love. If you want to go out, swim in the sea or go for a run together, then enjoy a coffee and cake afterwards.
