Read the same book, listen to the same podcast or share interesting features, then discuss them together. A shared talking point is a great way to remind you of your similar outlook and values.
2. Commit to a shared activity or try something new
Plan something really exciting such as trekking to Everest base camp that will take time to research, that you’ll need to train for and which will be a major achievement. Or book a holiday in Greece, then enrol for evening classes and learn Greek together.
3. Revel in the mundane – together
Weed the garden, decorate the spare room or just tidy up the kitchen together. It’s the small moments of connection that allow threads of conversation to develop and minds to meet.
