LIBRA

September 23 – October 22

Friday - - Society -

Once you understand the nature of 2014 and its theme, you’ll also understand why no matter what you do or decide and how carefully you’ve thought arrangements through, things will change, and suddenly.

As a Libra, you strive for harmony in your life. Being ruled by the planet of harmony itself, Venus, this is important to you in terms of relationships. But also, if you think of your symbol, the scales, harmony is important. It’s essential to your nature. Yet, during 2014, the kind of harmony you’ll have will come about through growth and change.

Think of this as if you were on holiday – as if you were travelling from one place to another. You arrive at your destination, unpack your bags, become familiar with the place, settle down, do a bit of exploring, enjoy the place then pack your bags and move on to another destination and repeat the routine.

It’s this kind of scenario that you can expect during 2014. While the need to reorganise regularly is something everybody knows to expect and accept when they’re travelling, the possibility that something can go wrong is also high. You may worry you’ve misjudged situations. But the fact is that with Mars, the planet of ego and energy, positioned

You’re conscious of the need to support your family as well as friends

in your sign until the middle of the year – having moved there on December 7, 2013 and remaining until July 26, 2014 – you can expect to be asking plenty of questions and discovering a lot.

Not only that, with Mars powerfully aspecting Uranus, the planet of innovation, on April 23, and again on June 25, it’s not just about new ideas. Because Uranus is about revolutionary concepts, those changes could mean you find yourself looking at what seemed stable parts of your life from a different angle.

It’s also worth bearing in mind that the eclipses that take place during 2014 – particularly the eclipsed Full Moon on April 15 – accents the parts of your chart that have to do with practical and financial matters.

Again, in late April and in October, changes in circumstances around you could mean rethinking what you’re doing. While that may sound worrying, some changes could benefit you. It’s just that, in thinking them through, you’ll need to review your priorities.

You’re always considering the circumstances of those closest. For you, more than any other sign, there’s always an awareness of the impact of your decisions on others. And you’re always conscious of the need to support others – your family as well as friends.

Yet, during the first half of 2014, especially the period during which Mars is in your sign, until late July, you’ll find that you must put yourself first in a way that’s unusual for you, and in a way that might seem uncomfortable and out of character.

However, Mars takes two years to go around the zodiac through every sign, and so during that period each sign has an opportunity to learn from it. Because its stay in your sign is an unusually long one, you’ll find that what you learn during this powerful cycle of about seven months’ isn’t just important – it will revolutionise your thinking and lead to changes in your activities and your priorities that will shape your life for some time to come.

Knowing that, take advantage of this powerful cycle and discuss your plans with others.

You may worry that these changes will upset those around you. But the fact is that most people will be delighted with what you’re exploring, and even more delighted to discuss those plans with you. The discussions you have with others won’t just enable you to make improvements in your own life, it will do something which is just as important to you, which is bring you closer to those around you.

Recognise 2014, therefore, as a year of personal growth and development, a year of exploration and a year during which you learn a great deal from that process of exploration.
