December21 – January 19
As a Capricorn and somebody who is both an earth sign and who is ruled by the planet of focus, Saturn, you have an instinctive understanding of the need to be organised... the need to plan.
While many Capricorns work hard in rather straightforward positions or jobs, even those whose lives are more on the fringe of life, those who are performers, actors and artists, or who are at home still have an awareness of the need to be organised at the core of their existence. However, during 2013 you’ve realised that you cannot always do that, what with circumstances changing and in many situations you being dependent on the decisions of others.
Not much is going to change this year, but the silver lining is that such challenges will help you look at issues from a new perspective and help you grow in confidence.
During 2013, Jupiter, the planet that’s all about growth, development and good fortune, brilliantly aspected your ruler, Saturn, twice, and it does so again in late May, 2014.
This suggests that sudden changes, often because of the influence of circumstances in the lives of others or unexpected developments, put you in a position to do something in a new way. Your reaction will have depended on your attitude towards change in that particular area of your life. But there’s a trick to making the best of this – resist the temptation to minimise those changes.
Again, as a Capricorn, once you’ve set a goal, you tend to focus on and stick with it.
Yet, during 2014 you’ll find that if you can balance that focus with a willingness to be flexible – to go with the flow – life will become magical. You’ll meet amazing people and you’ll discover things you wouldn’t otherwise have.
This is also about balancing your need to plan and to aspire to achieve with a willingness to deal with whatever, and whoever, you encounter.
It’s also worth bearing in mind that with Uranus, the planet of innovation, challenging Pluto, the planet of control – which is positioned in your sign in late November of 2013, and in both April and December of 2014 – big changes in your life could mean rethinking existing arrangements and plans that had seemed unlikely to alter.
Here, again, you might feel that they are disruptive. But remember these are challenges that inspire you to look at life in a new way.
You’ve always thought of life as something to be lived well and precisely. Essentially, you set goals, you work hard to achieve them, you enjoy those achievements and then you go on to the next set of goals.
And with Mars positioned in the crucial midheaven angle of your chart until the middle of 2014, those goals will remain important.
Yet, at the same time, there’s a theme of balance, and that balance has to do with allowing yourself to be inspired by other activities, not just the practical goals that are so important to you, as a Capricorn, but those activities and, perhaps, even individuals who inspire you.
With Neptune, which is the planet of vision, positioned in the part of your chart that has to do with your point of view, it’s time to throw a little exploration of new ideas, and perhaps even a little philosophy into the mix.
This year it’s time to blend that Capricorn focus with activities and pursuits that lift your spirits, make you reflect on life, touch your heart in some way and balance your focus on achievement. Do this and 2014 will be a year to remember.
