8 Love Actually
This festive romantic comedy tells love stories – from a lovesick 10-year-old to the new Prime Minister (Hugh Grant) and a couple on their wedding day to a run-away novelist. The film’s location list reads like a ‘must do’ guide to London including the London Eye, Trafalgar Square and Selfridges. Setting the festive scene, an opening montage also shows the beautiful Somerset House (below) in all its glory. Once a 16th century palace, the building is now home to ever-changing art and design exhibitions with music, film and fashion events taking place throughout the year.
British Airways flies direct to London from Dh3,500, from where you can easily take trains to the rest of the country.
