They really are an inspiration, Simone. Good luck and let us know how you get on!

F irst of all, I would like to express my appreciation for the heart-warming articles that Friday publishes. ‘The best Dh120,000 I ever spent’ (January 24), a poignant story of a woman who battled infertility for several years before she and her husband adopted a baby girl, was one of them.

The article not only focused on infertility, but on the relationship called marriage as well. The love, care and patience her husband Paul has shown towards his wife during her mood swings, her ups and downs and his immense support in adopting their little girl, Marika, from Nepal calls for appreciation.

Adoption might sound easy but loving a baby who is not biologically yours is never easy. It needs courage and the belief in the true spirit of motherhood. There are many babies like Marika who need help and deserve a chance to love and to be loved. Articles like that spread hope and are an answer to all those who still consider adoption to be taboo.
