The trend: Whimsical washes of shadow orbing the eye made for a pretty pastel alternative to the classic smoky-eye for Spring/Summer. Think soft, nude hues and romantic muted metallics.
Seen at: “A woman with the freedom to fly, both soft and brave,” read Giorgio Armani’s brief to his team backstage, which inspired make-up artist Linda Cantello to create a cloud of subtle sea-green around the eyes (pictured). Meanwhile at Burberry Prorsum, make-up artist Wendy Rowe interpreted the English Rose theme with a wash of pretty pink across the eyelids. Holly Fulton’s shimmery lilac eye was a nod to the 1970s.
How to: 1. Apply an under-eye primer and top with a corrective concealer to cover any dark circles. 2. Follow with an eyelid primer, then sweep your chosen shadow all over the lid using your ring finger. Use a blending brush to soften the shadow into shape, leaving it darkest at the outer-bottom and inner-top corners. 3. Finish with a light coat of mascara on the lashes.
