what you think…
Every week I amamazed at the vast variety of articles you pack into one issue. From giving a glimpse into the lives of our favourite celebrities to heart-warming real-life stories and, of course, my favourite, the ‘Making a difference’ features. But what had me chuckling the whole of this weekend, was the story of Nick Harding’s compatibility issues with his girlfriend’s cat (‘My biggest love rival? It’smy girlfriend’s cat!’ February 7).
Nick’s description of the way the cat has put a spanner into his love life by becoming the focus of his girlfriend’s attention had me laughing, while feeling sympathetic to Nick’s plight. I was impressed by how fast the cat had developed his territorial instincts, too. I loved the way the article ended; revenge, I must say, is sweet.

We’re glad we had you chuckling Puneet. We know some of our features are hard-hitting and so we try to make you laugh as well as gasp and cry! Karen, Editor.
The moment I saw Salman Khan’s name on the cover of my favourite magazine, I was excited. (‘I would like my films to be smaller flops than my rivals’, February 7).
It took a while for me to calm down enough to read the article, but I enjoyed it thoroughly as I found his honesty refreshing. Unlike most stars, Salman was candid about wanting his films to do well and did not hesitate to give his unstinting support to upcoming talent.
I’ve always been a fan, and love him, but now I admire him too. Thank you, Friday!

You’re right – Salman is secure enough in his own ability to help others. I’m a fan too!
Iwould like to thank Chef Silvena Rowe for her lovely recipes, particularly those for the Special fried rice and Chicken noodle stir-fry (‘Big taste in little China, January 31’).
followed the recipes exactly as Silvena had specified and my family loved the end result. In fact they said that it was better than what is served at most of the popular restaurants in town. Fantastic!

We love Silvena’s recipes too, Pramilla. Why not try the cupcakes on page 68?
Firstly, I would like to congratulate the team for a stupendous job of bringing out such a wonderful magazine. I recently moved back to the UAE after six years, and felt immense pleasure at seeing the improved version.
There is a little suggestion I wish to make though. Friday, no doubt, gives us the best insight when it comes to cuisines but it would be great if you could tell us about restaurants in emirates other than Dubai. Being a resident of Sharjah, I would love to read more about my emirate’s offerings.
Once again, kudos. You guys give me one more reason to look forward to Friday.
