CHILI’S

Jumeirah Beach Road

-

Chili’s no doubt can stake claim to being the first restaurant chain to introduce the UAE to the concept of casual dining in American and Tex-Mex cuisine. Way before TGI Fridays and the rest did – and yet it still hasn’t lost out on its clientele.

Located on Jumeirah Beach Road, this small branch’s comfortable booths were packed with families, buzzing with conversation and emanating good vibes when we visited. Dedicated kids’ as well as vegetarian menus are de rigeur. But true to the Southern/Tex-Mex cuisine, its spread offers burgers, steaks, fried chicken, shakes and everything else that constitutes a typical all-American meal.

Appetizers like the Triple Dipper and Bottomless Tostada Chips are not only mouth-watering but also perfect for sharing. The Create-YourOwn-Combo option is a lifesaver if you’re accompanied by kids who are picky eaters. While the Kid’s Mac and Country Fried Chicken are sure to keep the little ones happy, mums and dads will love one of the many flame-grilled steaks.

Vegetarians, fret not, the burgers and sandwiches come with a meat substitution offer and the Avocado Burger with red onions and Swiss cheese is a winner.

Nothing screams American like ice cream smoothies, and it would be a shame to visit Chili’s and not try one. Discerning adults can always fall back on the creative mocktails on offer such as Blue Pacifico and Tradewinds.

The best is always saved for last, which is why we were excited about

dessert, which was the famed Molten Chocolate Cake; a visual and gustatory delight. The cake was warm, moist and the sauce was just moreish! We left with chocolate beards so be warned – if you’re going on after Chilli’s, check your reflection otherwise everyone will know where you’ve been!
