The vast majority of women have their hair cut too short and in too much of a defined style. Think of the likes of Alexa Chung, Gisele Bündchen, Kate Moss – not even a hint of a defined, sharp style between them. No woman should have her hair cut short just because she reaches 40, or 50, or any age.
Break the tyranny of the six-week cut. Unless a sleek bob or crop, hair looks better a few weeks after it is cut. Ask your hairdresser to consider mini cuts – rather than having a full cut every time, pop in for a fringe trim. Take photographs of hairstyles you like, and some you hate. Hairdressers and clients rarely speak the same language.
