Whenever I cook, I try to make it a point to introduce new and different flavours into my dishes because I believe it’ll give me an edge over others. That was the reason I decided on a chilli chocolate ginger tart and shahi methi (rich fenugreek sauce) chicken tart as my audition dishes.
I was really nervous when preparing them as it was the first time that I was putting my food up in a contest. But the moment I heard the judges’ feedback, I was sure I’d be a finalist.
My family has always encouraged me with my cooking but they never imagined I’d make it to a TV show. My dad is super-excited and he now wants to invest in a restaurant. As for my friends, they are saying, “Let’s go to Maddie’s house for lunch.”
I’d like to use food to teach people about different cultures and help bring people together.
