M y dad suggested that I audition for
Foodshala as I’m such a keen cook. I prepared a vegan chocolate mousse – I am a vegan – and was quite nervous when it was my turn to face the judges. They were also surprised to see me, a teenager among all the adults, but they liked my dish, which was a relief.
My parents have been really supportive throughout the programme. They taught me to cook when I was very young. In fact, I remember making a birthday meal for my mom when I was 12 that turned out great. That’s what sparked my passion for cooking. I cook to spread the message that we need to be compassionate to animals through our eating habits. I also want to prove vegans don’t have to settle for boring food; there are plenty of options available.
The chocolate mousse was truly the highlight of my cooking.
My dream is to start multiple vegan restaurants in Dubai.
