I have a pas­sion for Ital­ian food so when I saw the advertisement for Food­shala in Fri­day, I knew what I would be mak­ing – an Ital­ian plat­ter of mush­room tagliatelle with a chicken Cae­sar salad and a meatzza (grain­less pizza where the crust is made of ground beef). The last was my trump card.

I had taken along the Fri­day Golden ticket so I could get on to the fast track. Alexio Pasquali, one of the judges, was es­pe­cially happy to see my Ital­ian spread. TV host Gau­rav Tan­don loved it, too, and I then knew I stood a chance. I was so ex­cited when I was selected as a fi­nal­ist and I re­ceived the Fri­day apron. It was such an hon­our!

I’m go­ing to give my all to see that I do well. I’m a reg­u­lar home cook but I want to show the world I can do more than just dal chawal.
