L ast year I auditioned for
Foodshala but didn’t make it past the first round. So this time I came with a lot more determination... and I intend to stick around and win.
I prepared a dish called badmaza chicken, which means tasteless chicken, in Hindi. When I mentioned my plan to some of my friends, they laughed their heads off. “Are you sure?” they asked me, but I was. I decided to use ingredients that aren’t usually in chicken dishes, such as white pepper.
What happened at the audition was interesting – the moment the judges tasted it, they said it was very bad. I was crestfallen and was about to leave the room when they called me back, saying they were only kidding and that it was delicious. I was so relieved and excited I almost jumped up and down on the spot.
Before, my mother didn’t consider me a good cook, but now she’s convinced I’m a star. One of the best things about the show is that I made a lot of friends. That was nice.
