irst of all, belated birthday wishes to my favourite magazine in the UAE! Over the years, the wide variety of your features, interviews and opinions have moulded my perspective of the society we live in and my opinion of the issues that plague our sociopolitical environment. It’s given me a glimpse into the hearts and minds of people who have been an inspiration to the rest of us.
I’ve been hooked on Friday for almost a decade now and it has played the role of a friend, parent and teacher at various phases of my life here in Dubai. Hats off to the team for bringing out such a high-quality product week after week.
I truly appreciate the effort that must be going into making this world-class magazine. Well done. ince its first publication 17 years ago, Friday has been entertaining scores of readers. It is a complete and definite lifestyle magazine that in a unique way covers topics ranging from politics, health and food to glamour and aspirations of the common man (or woman).
Friday is a ‘must-read’ for many of us as it fills our life with muchneeded inspiration and provides us immense joy.
Over the years Friday has become a staple for Gulf News readers. I wish the magazine a long life and even more success. May it continue to regale the readers for a long time to come. enjoyed reading the interview with Preity Zinta (‘Why should boys have all the fun?’, May 16). I love Preity, not only for her artistic talent, but for her humanitarian work and also how she did not bow down to threats from the underworld when she testified against them in a murder case.
Could you please interview ex-Miss Universe Sushmita Sen next? I would love to read about her.
Lastly, congratulations to the entire team on Friday’s 17th birthday. penniless, without giving them any reason. She did not let her life come to a standstill, instead she moved on and brought up her boys with a positive outlook.
I think this is exactly what life is all about. It doesn’t stop when an obstacle comes in the way, it moves on.
