DRESSING WELL TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE
She’s raising money and awareness for children with special needs – but Lamya Abedin is hoping to ensure Dubai’s women look super-trendy while she does it.
A portion of her profits from her new Mexican-inspired range will go towards the Al Noor Training Centre For Children with Special Needs. What exactly is the range like? “Every collection I create is a revival of my first love for culture and heritage, in a redefined modern version,” says Lamya, who set up her Queen Of Spades label in 2008.
“So while the core elements of my style statement can be seen across my creations, each collection brings about a touch of novelty juxtaposed with timeless beauty.”
In this instance that means Mexican patterns, hues of Central American spices and poncho-style abayas.
