Call­ing all cake lovers. A brand new con­tem­po­rary patis­serie/ café, sim­ply called Cake, has opened in The Ritz-Carl­ton, DIFC, with one thing on its mind. What? Cake, of course! Cake and the Ritz? It can’t get any bet­ter, right? We love the menu’s au­tum­nal flavours, bring­ing in hints of chest­nuts, pears, hazel­nuts and ap­ples to its con­fec­tion. For us the high­light is The Ritz-Carl­ton Cake, a deca­dent choco­late cake with Val­rhona Coeur de Gua­naja choco­late sponge, and Val­rhona Caraibe ganache in­fused with can­died orange peel. En­joy a slice (Dh45) or or­der the full cake (Dh200 for 750g). Go on, or­der the full cake! Wash it down with a se­lec­tion of teas, cof­fees, juices, milk­shakes, smooth­ies – and there’s fresh sand­wiches and sal­ads for the non-sweet-toothed.
