After reading the article ‘What kind of spender are you?’ (January 2), I was left dumbstruck realising that I fit the Ms Generous category. As your article explains, I love to shower my family and friends with expensive gifts even though they don’t expect them of me and quite often the expense throws my budget completely off track.

In fact, now I’m embarrassed to admit that I feel good about the fact that I might have ‘sacrificed’ my priorities for the sake of my family. Why do I do it? I don’t know right now but I am going to be doing some serious introspection to find out.

I am Ms Risky and now plan to stop frittering away money and start saving. Let me know how you get on! Karen, Editor

The real-life feature on the anorexic girl Lauryn Lax who was saved by the people in her gym was very heart-warming (‘I’m happy for the first time in life’ January 2).

What I liked was the way a group of strangers came together to help the girl fight the problem and did not judge or criticise her. Lauryn is very lucky to have friends like these as they clearly have saved her life.
