THE INTERVIEW WITH BOLLYWOOD STAR Nawazuddin Siddiqui was an excellent read (‘I’ll break mountains for cinema – not love’, October 2). What I enjoyed the most was the way the article explored this talented actor’s personality beyond the facade of the star he has become. In fact, I happened to watch his latest film, Manjhi - The Mountain Man, recently and enjoyed it thoroughly. Just like the protagonist of the film, Nawazuddin too has overcome odds with his indomitable spirit to be the success that he is now. I wish him all the luck.

NAWAZUDDIN SIDDIQUI proves that a never-say-die spirit is vital if you want to achieve your goals and realise your dreams. This so-called ordinary-looking man is actually a superhero for all those who are fighting cynicism and pessimism to give shape to their dreams.

THE FEATURE ON NAWAZUDDIN SIDDIQUI was absolutely brilliant. This Bollywood star proves that talent is all that matters, not family background, money or how much influence one wields in the industry.

The small-town boy with seemingly ordinary looks, who spent years facing rejection, has now become a force to reckon with in the world’s biggest film industry that’s so glamour-stricken. Isn’t that an irony?

What I liked the most about the interview was how Nawazuddin has remained positive through his initial struggles and now that he is a success, he still wants to challenge his talent by exploring different kinds of roles and genres of films. The word complacency definitely does not figure in his dictionary.

If not in films, this man can make a career in the self-help industry by teaching people how to stay focused and not lose heart when faced with those who always pull you down, never boost you up.

I LOVED THE REPORT ‘The Pursuit of Happiness’ (October 2) this week. It not only made me realise the importance of emotional well-being in our lives but also the fact that the key lies in not how much we have, but how much we enjoy.

Thank you Friday, for giving me a happy and pleasurable read as always.

Nawazuddin is down to earth even though he’s a Bollywood star Nawazuddin Siddiqui has proved that talent and a never-say-die spirit trumps glamour even in Bollywood
