I HAD GOOSEBUMPS while reading the cover story on women battling and beating breast cancer (‘We’re breast cancer survivors’, October 9). The sheer determination to fight the dreaded disease and the positive spirit that each of the four women displayed make them my heroes.
I wish them all a healthy future and hope they have the strength to win their battle.

THE SPECIAL EDITION ON BREAST CANCER not only highlighted the gravity of the problem but also gave an insight into the lives of real women who have survived the disease and are now an inspiration to the rest of us.
I especially loved the real-life story of Cath Jones who only found out that she had breast cancer after dieting (‘Losing weight saved my life’, October 9). She was inspired to lose weight by her best friend Claire who then became her pillar of strength.
Thank you, Friday, for putting together such an inspiring and fantastic collector’s issue.

THE BREAST CANCER ISSUE was very relevant considering the number of women who are being diagnosed with this disease. I couldn’t stop reading the real-life stories of the women who fought and survived breast cancer.
I forwarded the magazine to a relative who is also a survivor and she was very thankful for all the information on alternative treatments and lifestyle changes one can make to stay cancer-free.
I’m now going to share the magazine with all my extended family and friends to create more awareness about the disease. Thank you, Friday, for such an informative issue.
