STICKY CHICKEN

Prep time 25 mins, plus mar­i­na­tion time Cook­ing time about 1 hour Serves 4

250ml cola fizzy drink 125ml honey 200ml hoisin sauce 50ml teriyaki sauce 12 chicken drum­sticks Toasted sesame seeds, to serve

Pre­heat the oven to 200°C. Whisk the cola, honey and sauces to­gether in a bowl to­gether and pour over the chicken. Mix well, cover and re­frig­er­ate at least for an hour or prefer­ably overnight. Line an oven­proof dish with foil and add the chicken and sauce. Bake for 20 min­utes, turn and bake for an­other 20 min­utes.

Pour the sauce into a saucepan and re­duce un­til syrupy. Mix with the chicken and put it back into the oven to bake un­til sticky. Turn the chicken fre­quently and baste with the sauce, if needed. Sprin­kle with sesame seeds be­fore serv­ing.
