WHAT’S TEAM FRI­DAY UP TO?

At the week­end I vis­ited Tom and Serg’s new Mex­i­can restau­rant Muchachas near Safa Park. It puts a mod­ern twist on Mex­i­can food – my favourite was the SU­PER cheesy queso fun­dido with prawns, served in a pineap­ple! I loved the quirky in­te­ri­ors – I’ll be go­ing back very soon! Lind­say Judge, Fash­ion Ed­i­tor I de­cided on do­ing some­thing dif­fer­ent over the week­end – af­ter be­ing in Dubai for three years I took a road trip to an­other emi­rate, Fu­jairah. With pic­turesque views and the Ha­jar moun­tains, it cer­tainly wasn’t a dis­ap­point­ment – and only an hour-and-a-half away! I’m def­i­nitely go­ing to be a reg­u­lar vis­i­tor. Next time it’ll be snorkelling in the In­dian Ocean. Ve­rina Du­rand, Se­nior Pic­ture Ed­i­tor Un­til re­cently I used to call my oven the mother of all black holes… I’d put in stuff and all that would come out were dif­fer­ent shapes of charred ‘stones’. I fi­nally de­cided to em­brace the ap­pli­ance. So I found an easy recipe of ap­ple muffins and de­cided to just go with it! How did it taste, you ask? It didn’t go in the bin.
