My fabulous Friday

Great coffee and desserts in Sharjah, a new restaurant, outdoor movie nights… this entrepreneur/designer has her hands full on weekends

Friday - - Up Close And Personal -

I started my company, Sara Al Madani Fashion Design presents Rouge Couture, when I was 15. Back then I didn’t realise fashion was my passion – the only thing I wanted to do was to make Arab women part of the universal fashion industry with her own traditional wear.

What’s that? There is no food that can comfort anything. I learnt to get over any emotion by relieving stress through work. But dark chocolate sometimes is good.

If there’s one place I’d like to take off to it is Los Angeles. I would live in Glendale and I would take my son and my best friend along. Within Sharjah there are various places I enjoy – going to Paper Fig Desserts for lunch or dinner; for coffee I’d like to go to Zawaya and Ratios; for dessert to Cremolata; and I would go to the Sharjah Art Foundation when they have their outdoor movie night.

As a board member of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry and founder of Sara Al Madani Fashion Design presents Rouge Couture, I’ve learnt how to multitask. Women are born with that talent. The key to juggling different roles is – prepare, prioritise, and manage.
