My fabulous Friday
The mum-of-two and founder of children’s interior store Misk reveals she’s an introverted chocolatier who enjoys staying in
I try to read books on the weekends – I prefer an actual paperback. I am now reading AlWaleed about Saudi Arabia’s Prince Al Waleed, by Riz Khan. An Embarrassment of Mangoes by Ann Vanderhoof is my favourite book – it’s a story of letting go of work to cook and travel around the Caribbean. It’s a great escape read for amateur foodies. My father would quote Max Ehrmann’s Desiderata, an old poem with different origin stories, to me and my two sisters throughout our childhood. These lines have shaped the way I live life: ‘Go placidly amid the noise and haste… be gentle with yourself… strive to be happy’.
