NEW FLIGHTS BOUND FOR NEWARK, NICE
Starting March 12, Emirates is launching a new daily flight from Dubai to Newark Liberty International Airport, via Athens. This gives travellers another route option to the New York metropolitan area, as well as a non-stop daily trip between Greece and the US. A Boeing 777-300ER will be used for the route, with eight seats in first class, 42 in business and 304 in economy.
Emirates is also launching a third daily flight to Kenya’s capital, Nairobi. The aircraft used for this flight is also a three-class 777-300ER. The new flight launches on June 1 and increases the airline’s frequency to Kenya to 21 flights a week.
Etihad Airways is doubling its daily flights to Düsseldorf, Germany, through a code-share with partner carrier Air Berlin. Starting March 26, travellers will have a new mid-morning departure from Abu Dhabi and an overnight return option from Düsseldorf. The extra daily frequency will provide further connections to popular destinations including Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Sydney, Mumbai and Delhi.
Etihad – which last month announced that CEO James Hogan is leaving the airline in the second half of the year – is adding a third daily flight on the Abu DhabiBengaluru route from March 26. The two-class Airbus 321 has a late-night departure from Abu Dhabi, and early morning service from Bengaluru.
Nice is getting closer with Qatar Airways’ new direct flights from July 4 – five flights a week from Doha to Nice Côte d’Azur airport.
