WHAT’S TEAM FRIDAY UP TO?

Sun, sand and surfers. The moment I stepped on Kite Beach last weekend, I felt I was transported to Miami, without having to check if my US visa was still valid. But what fascinated me the most was a crazy game of beach tennis – a fun mix of tennis and volleyball. Apparently, the sport’s fan following in the UAE has seen an incredible rise recently and as I found myself clapping at every point that a team scored, I realised I, too, had become a part of that statistic.

As the days pass and my sister’s engagement party approaches, shopping becomes challenging. This weekend, like many others, my family and I decided to dress-shop in The Dubai Mall. The attempt somehow morphed into dining at Mado, a Turkish café, which has the best kunafa!
