Last week­end I re­alised how chal­leng­ing it can be to plan a din­ner when you have both die-hard car­ni­vores and strict ve­g­ans to take care of. Luck­ily a friend sug­gested Grub Shack, an In­dian restau­rant in Health­care City. The food is de­li­cious and well pre­sented. The car­ni­vore or­dered Goan sta­ples – beef pan rolls, spicy bat­ter-fried king­fish and chicken xa­cuti; the ve­gan went crazy over fiery red pota­toes and okra stir fry. I nib­bled through it all as I’d spot­ted a kulfi cart from Kul­fi­l­i­cious at the en­trance. Out­stand­ing! Mri­nal Shekar, deputy edi­tor Q: What’s the best thing you can do on a Mon­day night in Dubai? A: A pub quiz, of course! I’m a com­plete trivia fiend, and you’ll find me and my com­pet­i­tive spirit any­where there’s a ge­og­ra­phy round. My lat­est find is the new quiz at the Westin’s Cook Hall gas­tro-pub.
