It’s the age of rock in Dubai – British rock bands, to be precise. Legendary rockers Status Quo will be coming to Dubai Opera on October 27, as part of their Last Night of the Electrics series, an extension to their European tour. Featuring Francis Rossi, Andrew Bown, John ‘Rhino’ Edwards, Leon Cave and Richie Malone, the extension is to honour the late Rick Parfitt, who founded the band with Francis Rossi and died in 2016. Tickets from Dh195 are at dubaiopera.com. Earlier in the year, on April 7, New Order will perform at Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium – the iconic band’s first concert in the Middle East. Founded in 1980, keep an ear out for hits like Blue Monday, True Faith and Bizarre Love Triangle. Tickets from Dh349 at platinumlist.net and at The Irish Village retail shop in Garhoud.
