BY THE BOOKS
The Mall at World Trade Center Abu Dhabi is hosting a Pre-loved Stories and Book Fair in partnership with Wanna Read?, a charity led by Shaikha Shamma Bint Sultan Bin Khalifa Al Nahyan. The initiative that’s celebrating the Year of Giving will see book donation boxes placed at the mall’s Magrudy’s store until April 5 so you can drop in books you no longer need. These books will then be available to purchase at the Pre-loved Stories and Book Fair taking place from April 13-15. Arabic authors such as Nairoz Al Tanbouli, Salma Khamis Al Rezaiqi and Majid Sokar will conduct readings at the fair and answer fans’ questions.
Dubai’s bookworms should drop by the Reading Box space at City Walk 2. Held under the theme of ‘A generation reads. A civilisation rises’, in support of the National Month of Reading in March, the initiative includes a book exhibition, workshops, interactive panels and reading sessions featuring writers, poets, publishers and artists and book signings for children. It’s taking place from 10am to 10pm on weekdays, and 10am to 12am on weekends. Visit dubaiculture. gov.ae
