I received a scholarship to complete my International Baccalaureate degree at the Atlantic College in Wales, UK – which is actually the St Donats Castle, a 12th-century castle with a lot of history and secrets. We used to have our economics class in what used to be the castle’s master bedroom. The room had a small secret door that led, through a small corridor, to one of the guest bedrooms. We always wondered why those two were connected. Also, one of the castle’s towers is said to be haunted by the ghost of Lady Stradling, believed to have been murdered there by a family member. People have claimed to see her walking around in a silk gown and high heels at night. I never did though.
