STARRY-EYED IN ABU DHABI
Reach for the stars and an entertaining evening out with the family at these astronomy and space events in Abu Dhabi. Mall at the World Trade Centre is setting up a telescope in the food court from 6.30-8.30pm so you can gaze at the skies. There’s a planetarium show, and other entertainment includes face-painting, a photo gallery and clowns.
For the more academically inclined, New York University Abu Dhabi is hosting The X-transients: Extreme Phenomena in the High Energy Universe on April 12. The universe, gravitational astrophysics, magnetars (radiating neutron stars) and black holes will be the topics of discussion at the seminar, headlined by Chryssa Kouveliotou, professor of physics at George Washington University.
