Fan­tas­tic news for film lovers: You don’t have to wait un­til the an­nual Dubai In­ter­na­tional Film Fes­ti­val ev­ery De­cem­ber to see your favourite in­die flicks from around the world. Vox Cinemas at Mall of the Emi­rates (one of the hubs of the fes­ti­val) and du will now be screen­ing fes­ti­val-wor­thy films through­out the year, start­ing on April 20 with Ken Loach’s I, Daniel Blake. In May, there’s In­dian com­edy drama Mukti Bhawan (Ho­tel Sal­va­tion, pic­tured) by Shub­hashish Bhutiani; A Man Called Ove; Django; Maudie; and Sherif Al Bendary’s Egyp­tian com­edy Ali, the Goat, and Ibrahim (the film won the Muhr award for Best Ac­tor at Diff last De­cem­ber). Films cost the same as reg­u­lar fea­tures. Ex­pect more films to be added to the sched­ule in the com­ing month.
