DIFF IS NOW 365 DAYS A YEAR
Fantastic news for film lovers: You don’t have to wait until the annual Dubai International Film Festival every December to see your favourite indie flicks from around the world. Vox Cinemas at Mall of the Emirates (one of the hubs of the festival) and du will now be screening festival-worthy films throughout the year, starting on April 20 with Ken Loach’s I, Daniel Blake. In May, there’s Indian comedy drama Mukti Bhawan (Hotel Salvation, pictured) by Shubhashish Bhutiani; A Man Called Ove; Django; Maudie; and Sherif Al Bendary’s Egyptian comedy Ali, the Goat, and Ibrahim (the film won the Muhr award for Best Actor at Diff last December). Films cost the same as regular features. Expect more films to be added to the schedule in the coming month.
