A loved one’s death is a painful experience that’s difficult to explain; artist Hadeyeh Badri tries to overcome the linguistic difficulty of describing trauma by conveying it through art in her exhibition The Body Keeps
the Score (above) at Tashkeel. The exhibition is an account of the death of Hadeyeh’s aunt, Shahnaz Badri. Partly subjective and partly impersonal, the piece incorporates old photographs, medical correspondence like emails and letters from physicians, and organic materials to express the struggles of illness and coming to terms with loss and finding hope again. April 12-May 11 at Nad Al Sheba gallery.
Park Rotana Abu Dhabi is showcasing the best of Indian art until April 14 in the hotel’s lobby.
