Rus­sian bari­tone Ro­dion-Po­gossov (right) is per­form­ing at One&Only Royal Mi­rage as part of World Clas­si­cal Mu­sic Se­ries on May 5. The singer will be ac­com­pa­nied by pi­anist Semjon Ski­gin from Moscow’s Bol­shoi Theatre in his ren­di­tion of grand arias in roles such as Bar­ber of Seville’s Fi­garo and Pa­pageno of The Magic Flute. At Al Ain’s UAE Univer­sity, the Orchestre Na­tional du Capi­tole de Toulouse will be in con­cert on May 3 as part of the Abu Dhabi Clas­sics. Rus­sian con­duc­tor Tu­gan Sokhiev and French cel­list Edgar Moreau (above) will be per­form­ing pieces in­spired by the sto­ries of 1,001 Nights. Tick­ets from Dh100 at tick­et­mas­ter.ae.

Amer­i­can hip-hop artist Russ (be­low left) will be per­form­ing at the Golden Tulip Ho­tel, Al Jazeera Ghan­toot (next to Blue Mar­lin) to­mor­row. The mu­si­cian from At­lanta (hip-hop’s epi­cen­tre) and known for his sin­gles like What They Want and Losin Con­trol, pro­duces, mixes and writes his own mu­sic. The con­cert will have a fes­ti­val vibe with per­for­mances by lo­cal R’n’B and hip-hop DJs, and a host of food trucks. Sun, sand, surf and mu­sic are the fo­cus at Barasti Beach’s Sugar Beach mu­sic fes­ti­val. The free beach party to­day in­cludes a line-up of guest DJs and mu­si­cians such as The Buzz Junkies and Drum War­rior and lo­cal acts like Jedi Mas­ter Marty, Ro­han Nunez and Tom Ferguson. The party starts at 11am and runs un­til late in the night.
