Marina Mall Abu Dhabi is celebrating World Autism Awareness Month until May 22. You can join in by buying a Puzzle Piece symbol, sold at the mall’s customer desk for Dh10, and place them on the autism tree set up in the mall. The first exhibition in the Middle East of Cecil Beaton’s captivating portraits runs at Sotheby’s in DIFC until May 27. Over 60 of his most celebrated works of stars of stage and screen, royalty, artists and glamorous and influential characters, from the 1920s to the 1970s (such as Audrey Hepburn, above), are on show. An Amazing Nation – a book celebrating the UAE’s 45th anniversary – launches today at Kinokuniya Bookstore at The Dubai Mall, from 4.30pm. The book is full of graphics that chart government structure, architecture, habitats and traditions. Francis Matthew, Editor-at-Large of Gulf News, which published the book, will talk about the book and the UAE’s heritage and economic achievements.
