CHANGE OF ART

Friday - - Humour -

Does art move you? Now you can make art move with the kinectic art workshop called Moving, Drawing, Sculpture at Manarat Al Saadiyat tomorrow. The class will teach participants how to breathe life in to their artwork by moulding clay into a sculpture that moves. That’s not all, the sculpture will also make its own drawings that you can take home. From 10am-12pm; Dh50. Call 02 657 5800.

If you’re an expat staying in the UAE for the summer, Amir H. Fallah’s exhibition Almost Home will strike a chord with you. The artist addresses the concept of living outside one’s country of origin and the fluidity of the idea of home, identity and displacement – everyday experiences of migrant life. The artist juxtaposes portraits and landscapes of Middle Eastern countries with symbols of American pop culture to show how migrants hold on to elements from both worlds. At the Third Line Gallery until July 21; free entry.
