The Ara­bic ver­sion of beloved chil­dren’s tele­vi­sion show Sesame Street, Ifthah Yah Sim­sim, will take the stage at Yas Mall in Abu Dhabi from Au­gust 3-5 (top right). Big Bird, Os­car the Grouch, the Cookie Mon­ster and other fa­mous Mup­pets en­ter­tain kids with a song and dance rou­tine.

Af­ter each show, kids can in­ter­act with the Mup­pets and par­tic­i­pate in arts and crafts work­shops. From 4-10pm; call 800 9276255.

Fran­cophiles aged four to 10 should say oui to the French sum­mer camp run­ning at Le Royal Meri­dien Abu Dhabi. The camp, on un­til Septem­ber 7, will keep lit­tle ones oc­cu­pied with games, sports, danc­ing, and arts and crafts all taught by French teach­ers who also speak flu­ent English. Avast ye! Shar­jah’s Al Ma­jaz Water­front is a trea­sure is­land un­til Au­gust 19 with the Pi­rates Vil­lage at Mini Splash Park. The swash­buck­ling theme park has face-paint­ing, hand­i­craft work­shops, gi­ant bub­ble ses­sions and pi­rate bat­tles where as­pir­ing buc­ca­neers fight with wa­ter-filled bal­loons in­stead of can­non­balls.

Kids will also get to meet Cap­tain Jack Spar­row from the Pi­rates of the Caribbean films; Dh50.
