The Arabic version of beloved children’s television show Sesame Street, Ifthah Yah Simsim, will take the stage at Yas Mall in Abu Dhabi from August 3-5 (top right). Big Bird, Oscar the Grouch, the Cookie Monster and other famous Muppets entertain kids with a song and dance routine.
After each show, kids can interact with the Muppets and participate in arts and crafts workshops. From 4-10pm; call 800 9276255.
Francophiles aged four to 10 should say oui to the French summer camp running at Le Royal Meridien Abu Dhabi. The camp, on until September 7, will keep little ones occupied with games, sports, dancing, and arts and crafts all taught by French teachers who also speak fluent English. Avast ye! Sharjah’s Al Majaz Waterfront is a treasure island until August 19 with the Pirates Village at Mini Splash Park. The swashbuckling theme park has face-painting, handicraft workshops, giant bubble sessions and pirate battles where aspiring buccaneers fight with water-filled balloons instead of cannonballs.
Kids will also get to meet Captain Jack Sparrow from the Pirates of the Caribbean films; Dh50.
