Crack up and have a crack­ing good start to the month with co­me­dian Aurie Styla’s (above) stand-up show at Tribeca, JA Ocean View Ho­tel on Au­gust 5. This is the funny Lon­doner’s first show in Dubai and will see him poke fun at mod­ern-city dwellers with ur­ban hu­mour. The show is the first in the Stand-Up Dubai new com­edy night se­ries. The Laugh­ter Fac­tory is churn­ing out a se­ries of com­edy shows to keep you amused un­til Au­gust 11. Comics John Fothergill (right), Nick Page and Paddy Len­nox will draw out laugh­ter from au­di­ences at Moven­pick Ho­tel, Jume­riah Beach to­day, Grand Mil­len­nium Te­com on Au­gust 10 and Le Meri­dien Dubai on Au­gust 11. Shows start at 9pm at all venues. The laugh­ter trick­les up to the capital on Au­gust 9 with a show at Park Rotana Abu Dhabi; show starts at 8pm. Dubom­edy have ex­tended their Stand-up Work­shops for the sum­mer in both English and Ara­bic – the ad­di­tional two weeks will run from Au­gust 12-26 and are open to all lev­els. Stu­dents will meet five times dur­ing the two weeks to work on stage pres­ence, tim­ing and de­liv­ery with sea­soned co­me­di­ans . Emi­rati co­me­dian Ali Al Syed will be tu­tor­ing the Ara­bic stu­dents. The stu­dents will then get to per­form at a pub­lic show.

Con­tin­u­ing with the trend of ex­ten­sions, Dubom­edy is also con­duct­ing two more free com­edy shows, on Au­gust 25 (Ara­bic) and Au­gust 26 (English).
