Michael Kors has bought Jimmy Choo – the Lon­don-based shoe la­bel – as part of its plans to build a US multi-brand com­pany to ri­val Europe’s LVMH, Richemont and Ker­ing. While Kors has been strug­gling to sell its own prod­ucts (the A/W17 col­lec­tion is pic­tured, left), it re­port­edly paid Dh4.4 bil­lion for Choo. Coach, too, is hop­ing to be an­other multi-brand player – it spent Dh8.8 bil­lion on Kate Spade in May.
