Make Smart , an in­spi­ra­tional mu­sic fes­ti­val, will kick off in the UAE on Septem­ber 29 at the Dubai World Trade Cen­tre. Aimed at the re­gion’s youth, the line-up for the event fea­tures rap­per and spo­ken word poet Prince Ea (be­low right), mo­ti­va­tional speaker Jay Shetty, peak per­for­mance coach Jean-Pierre De Villiers and Emi­rati colum­nist Khalid Al Ameri (right), who will in­spire the youth with thought-pro­vok­ing speeches that cover a wide range of is­sues and skills – from de­ci­sion­mak­ing and com­mu­ni­ca­tion, to learn­ing from ex­pe­ri­ences and so­cial aware­ness. Le­banese pi­anist Philippe El Hage (be­low) will be per­form­ing at The Fridge, Al Serkal Av­enue on Septem­ber 25. The con­cert is part of The Fridge’s lat­est sea­son of Con­cert Se­ries and will see the well-trav­elled mu­si­cian per­form his orig­i­nal com­po­si­tions that meld jazz, clas­si­cal har­mony, and ori­en­tal mu­sic.
