Abu Dhabi’s Empty Quarter will be chock full with cyclists today when the Liwa Cycling Race starts at 8am. The race has 104km, 84km and 40km courses that all start from the Moreeb Dune and will take participants through picturesque parts of the desert. The inaugural Palm Run kicks off on January 19 at the Board Walk Palm Jumeirah. The community fun run organised by RaceME and Fitness First has three different categories to suit all fitness levels and ages – pick from 3km, 5km or 10km. For kids in the four to 10 years old age group there’s a 1km course. Race packs can be collected from Palm Monorail car park from January 16-18.
