I have a very romantic idea of gardening, of cooking a meal and heading out to snip some rosemary to add to my lamb stew, or plucking a sprig of mint for a drink. As if.
My previous experience includes killing plants in record time, with one exception of an indoor yukka that I nurtured so lovingly that it grew to epic proportions and my husband put his foot down, asking me to choose: him or the jungle. He won.
Now that we have a bit more outdoor space I’m planning to indulge those romantic notions and plant some herbs, a few (easy) veggies and then Instagram it to death. Apologies in advance.
On page 23 we speak to home gardener Patty about her inspiration, ideas and advice for getting started, plus round up some desert-friendly plants to get you off to a great start. And we’d love to see your efforts, so get in touch to share your pics.
Enjoy the issue,
