My little black book
An insider’s guide to the UAE
My favourite place to eat
I love the food at Origami Dubai in Umm Suqeim Harbour. The service is good and the views are great.
My favourite fitness class
Parkour DXB is the most fun combination of mind and body training I’ve done. The coaches are highly qualified and have guided me to overcome my fear of heights. You practise spatial awareness, balance, strength, agility, explosive power and finesse, all in a relaxed group environment
My favourite indulgence
The soft serve ice cream at HAPI is my go-to dessert. It’s made with organic unrefined cane sugar and organic dairy, with no stabiliser or fillers, so I know that I’m indulging in good quality foods.
My favourite way to unwind
I like to spend a lot of time at the beach – Kite Beach is my favourite outdoor spot. I like to play beach volleyball, do stand-up paddleboarding, go for long beach walks or simply chill out.
My favourite clothes shop
I love All Saints for its style, quality and fit. Before the Dubai store opened I used to shop in London whenever I travelled. If it was colder here I’d buy more All Saints jackets – they’re awesome!
My favourite grocery shop
I’m quite picky when it comes to food shopping, and buy specific things from specific places. These include Ripe Organic, Organic Foods and Café, Spinneys, Prime Gourmet and Choithrams.
My favourite grooming spot
I go to Traditional Chinese Medicine Centre in Al Barsha every now and again for massages. That’s as far as I go in terms of pampering, though for haircuts I see Vesna at Pastels Hair Salon in the Ritz-Carlton JBR.
My philosophy behind HAPI
The aim of HAPI is to inspire our community to live better through good food, mindful exercise and active leisure.
