Tom’s KiTchen Deli

Good (UAE) - - THE GOOD LIFE -

Only a city as foodie-minded as Dubai would come up with a theme park restaurant that we actually want to visit. Tom’s Kitchen Deli is the second Dubai venture for celebrity chef Tom Aikens (his first being Pots, Pans and Boards in JBR), the youngest British chef ever to be awarded two Michelin stars. With a pedigree like that, it’s not surprising that the food at his café, located in Riverland at Dubai Parks and Resorts, is rather good. There’s a wonderfully gooey mac and cheese, crusty baguettes stuffed with pulled lamb, and thick, creamy smoothies that could double as dessert – try the peanut butter and banana, which is more satisfying than (and reminiscent of) a whole bag of Reese’s peanut butter cups. It’s a menu full of crowdpleasers, designed to appeal to the whole family – just like the rides in the park itself. Riverland, Dubai Parks and Resorts, off the E11 (Dubai to Abu Dhabi), daily 10am to 11pm. Tel: (050) 1658573. Taxi: Dubai Parks and Resorts. tomskitchen.co.uk
