We’ve long fos­tered con­cerns about the amount of food wasted at the UAE’s brunches, know­ing it could be put to bet­ter use, so we were over the moon when HH Sheikh Mo­hammed Bin Rashid Al Mak­toum, Vice Pres­i­dent and Prime Min­is­ter of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, launched the UAE Food Bank as part of 2017’s Year of Giv­ing. With more than 200 out­lets al­ready signed up to dis­trib­ute ex­cess pro­duce, the aim is to erad­i­cate our es­ti­mated Dhs13 bil­lion a year food waste moun­tain en­tirely, as­sist­ing those in need in the process.
